But the number worth paying attention to landed early, through leaks, not on stage: the base Pixel 11 is expected to start at $899 — a full $100 more than the Pixel 10's $799 launch price. The Pro is tipped at $1,099, the Pro XL at $1,299.
The justification Google will lead with
Storage. The Pixel 10 launched with 128GB as the entry configuration; the Pixel 11 is expected to double that to 256GB at the same tier. On a pure per-gigabyte basis, that's not an unreasonable trade, and it's the same playbook Apple and Samsung have both leaned on when a base-price hike needed a number to point at. In India, the base model is expected to land around ₹85,800 — the leaks aren't fully settled yet, but that would put it firmly ahead of where the Pixel 10 opened.
This is Google's second pricing-adjacent story out of this launch cycle in a week. The last one was a hardware swap — the temperature sensor Google added to the Pixel 10 line got pulled from the Pixel 11 and replaced with a cosmetic "Glow" LED, a spec regression dressed as a feature. This one is the opposite move: paying more for a device that, storage aside, isn't obviously carrying $100 more phone.
The urgency mechanic, live today

The number that matters more than launch price is what Tensor generation ships inside these phones and what Google does with the camera stack on the Pro models — neither is nailed down yet, and both determine whether $899 buys you a real upgrade over the Pixel 10 or mostly buys you extra storage you may not need. If your current phone works fine and battery/storage aren't pain points, there's no cost to waiting until August 12, reading the actual specs, and deciding after the reviews are in rather than before the keynote has even started.
